Custom Glass Etching
29 Palms,
(760)362-1100
Welcome to Glass Tattoo. I am Linda, and it will be my pleasure to
hand-etch each piece of jewelry or glassware that you order.
Glass Tattoo designs are made using a hand cut stencil, and placed
on the glass or jewelry piece through a sand blast process.
Once the designs are applied, they are permanent!
History
of Glass Tattoo
Glass Tattoo was started in 1987 when I was asked to make 8 x 10
sandblasted Limited Edition Comic Book covers for the Comic Book
Store here in 29 Palms. Since then it has grown away from the comic
book covers into etching on mugs, stemware, jewelry boxes, candy jars,
baby bottles, crystal pendants, car windows, water bed mirrors, and, well,
you name it. As long as it has a smooth surface and I can see through
it, I can etch on it. Some items were a real challenge, but I have
enjoyed
etching almost everything I have done.
The name Glass Tattoo derives from the act of tattooing on glass. When
I chose it these many years ago, it received less than enthusiastic
response from family and friends. They thought I should choose
something
more fancy, but when I chose it my intent was to set up shop on
military bases, and I thought it would create interest. Almost all young
military personnel have a tattoo, I reasoned. I would just be tattooing on
glass, instead of bodies!
At the present time, this site is growing by leaps and bounds. It is
still under
construction, so some of the links don't have pages set up for them yet.
Please be patient, there are over 1800 designs to add, and I am adding
as fast as time in real life allows.
Thanks for your support!!
